I greatly enjoyed my stay at Hotel Sophie Germain and would highly recommend it for your next stay in Paris! The location near several metro stations (along metro line 4 which connects with useful stops like Gare du Nord, Gare de l'Est, Odeon, and Cite) and multiple dining options is ideal for the solo traveller and, if you value a nice walk, you will find yourself within easy distance of some beautiful Paris landmarks like the Jardin du Luxembourg. The hotel staff were very friendly and engaging and someone is always present at the concierge desk. The elevator is small which is par for the course in most European establishments but always a plus when present in lieu of too many stairs. The room was clean, comfortable, and stylish and I enjoyed many nights of excellent sleep. I would absolutely visit again.

This hotel is a fabulous location if you're planning to to any day trips out of the city to the Loire Valley, etc. because one of the major tour operators picks up early in the morning from the Catacombs - a 3 minute walk from the property. Our double room was larger than expected with plenty of space for suitcases, etc. We also had two small balconies which we loved. The front desk staff was wonderful; one gentleman even walked us from the hotel to the Monoprix and helped my Mom with her wine selection. The breakfast buffet was simple (boiled eggs, breads, jams, meats/cheese, yogurts, fruit, juices, coffee/tea) but certainly enough to kick start a day of walking. We walked to the Louvre (about 40 minutes away), Eiffel Tower, etc. from here.

Fantastic location steps from the Metro made it easy to get to from Gare de l'Est and easy to get to other sightseeing locations in Paris. Also very easy access to the RER to CDG airport when it was time to leave. Beautiful room overlooking the back so it was very quiet. Well-appointed bathroom with shower and nice thick towels. Lovely breakfast in the lower level, very well stocked, great selection of food items and pleasant staff. Friendly and helpful front desk staff available around the clock. They kept our luggage safe for us when we arrived very early from Reims before the room was ready, so that we could go out comfortably into the neighbourhood to find a place for lunch.

Stayed 2 nights with teenage son in twin-bedded room on 5th floor. Located off the Main Street, there was no street noise in our air conditioned room. Great to be able to open the window and gaze out on life. Beds comfortable and a choice of square or rectangular (uk) pillows. Kettle and black tea, herbal, coffee for a refreshing brew. Bathroom excellent- shower great, clean and modern. Reception staff very helpful. Had breakfast on day 2 - a good spread of cereal, fruit, yoghurts, cheese and cold meat with boiled eggs, toaster. Location great for metro and RER with plenty of eateries eg cafe de Orleans (recommended), pharmacies, supermarket (Monoprix), and gym (Fitness Park).

This was my third stay at the Sophie Germain. The rooms are on the small side, but spacious enough for my purposes, very clean and attractive, and well-heated. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was generous and quite good. The shower was also very good. The staff, as always, was courteous, friendly, and efficient. Excellent value for the price!
